A Great Man

Published by Gabriele under Thought of the day

 Professor Randy Pausch

On July the 25th, the world had to say goodbye to a Great Man: Randy Pausch.

Randy Pausch was a Computer Scientist and a Professor at the Human Computer Interaction Institute of the School of Computer Science at the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

In August 2006 Randy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and he became sadly famous due to his “The Last Lecture” speech that he held on September the 18th 2007 at the Carnegie Mellon University after he was told him to expect a remaining three to six months of good health.

He pursued a very aggressive cancer treatment that included experimental and palliative chemotherapy just to extend his life as long as possible, and to spend more time with his lovable wife Jai and his three little children Logan, Dylan, and Chloe.

I’m really not able to explain here what special and charismatic person Randy was, even because he unawares did it better in his book “The Last Lecture“.

I have just to say that people like Randy are God’s gifts, and we all have to learn something from him.

Following there is a list of links about Randy, about his story, and his precious life teachings:

“You can’t control the cards you’re dealt, just how you play the hand” (Randy Pausch)
